Engaged in one of the most important matches in Backlash, Bobby Lashley was the protagonist negatively since he was unable to unpick the WWE title from the hands of the current champion Drew McIntyre. During a fairly hard-fought match, the highlight came with the intervention of his partner Lana who tried to distract the referee with protests and who in the confusion was thrown by Drew McIntyre out and onto MVP.
After that, things didn't go well for The All Mighty and Drew McIntyre confirmed himself as WWE champion. Subsequently, the official Twitter channel of the WWE Network published images and a video of the backstage where Bobby Lashley, Lana and MVP left the ring and while the latter consoled the wrestler, Lana follows the couple, screams his displeasure at Lashley who however avoids answering.
Lana costs Bobby Lashley the WWE title
This moment could be yet another that leads to the breakdown of one of the best-known couples within the federation owned by Vince McMahon. Bobby Lashley has long dreamed of beating the Scottish athlete and becoming champion at WWE Backlash, but also because of Lana, the goal has faded.
After this episode, the tension between the two is clearly growing and a definitive break between the couple is not excluded. Bobby Lashley and Lana have been together since 2019 when in Raw, they expressed their mutual love, upsetting Lana's husband, Rusev (currently out of WWE).
Lashley is slowly realizing that Lana's presence is cumbersome for her career and it would be interesting to hear her opinion on what happened in this Pay per View. According to Sages Rueter of Cageside Seats, the frequent discussions between Lana and Lashley and MVP could even lead to a feud of the former ECW Champion against Brock Lesnar.
The federation would thus work on a rivalry "Bad against bad" and "beast against beast", which could represent one of the main threads of next summer. During Lashley's first tenure with WWE, he was a two-time ECW World Champion and one-time United States Champion.
Bobby Lashley is also known for his work in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling/Impact Wrestling, where he was a four-time TNA/Impact World Champion, a one-time X Division Champion, and one-time and final King of the Mountain Champion.
After returning to WWE in 2018, Lashley would become a two-time Intercontinental Champion. Between WWE and TNA/Impact, Lashley has won a total of eleven championships, six of those eleven being world championships, and has also headlined multiple pay-per-view events.
