Kurt Angle on why Undertaker vs AJ Styles is his favorite cinematic style match

Kurt Angle is the only wrestler in history to have held the WWE Championship, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, the TNA World Heavyweight Championship (six-kingdom record) and the IWGP Third Belt Championship.

He was also a free-fight world champion in 1995, in the heavyweight category, and Olympic champion at the 1996 Atlanta games in the same category. He is a WWE and TNA legend and is considered by many to be the most technical wrestler of all time.

With great charisma, in 2010 he was elected by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter as the best fighter of the 21st century. During a Q&A session on his Facebook page, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed why the Boneyard Match between AJ Styles and The Undertaker at WrestleMania 36 is his favorite “cinematic style” WWE match.

Kurt Angle on the Boneyard Match

“Firefly Funhouse and Randy vs. Edge, but The Undertaker vs. AJ Styles match was my favorite because Taker deserved a match like that near the end of his career. I suggested he face AJ at ‘Mania last year.

I guess he thought it was a great idea" - Kurt Angle said. "I think the PG Era is good for wrestling. I understand that we had more creative control over our characters before PG, but the fact that the PG Era came around has helped the wrestlers stay healthier.

Drug tests, physicals, doctors, trainers, have become important to taking care of the health of superstars. The Attitude Era was special, but the wrestlers did not have the benefits of what these superstars have today. PG Era needed to happen.

Plus, the fact that WWE is marketing to families instead of young adults. I guess I did my job…LOL. I liked being the villain, it was fun. I got to be very funny and make an ass out of myself. I secured many great moments both as a heel and as a babyface" - he added.

Between WWF/WWE, Japan and TNA, Kurt Angle has won 21 total championships. He is the only pro-wrestler in history to have won the WWE Championship, WWE's World Heavyweight Championship, the WCW Championship, the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and the IGF's IWGP Heavyweight Championship.

Angle is also the only person to have been King of the Ring and King of the Mountain, as well as to have held both the WWE and TNA Triple Crowns. He has headlined numerous pay-per-view events for WWF/WWE and TNA, including both WrestleMania and Bound for Glory, the flagship events of the respective companies.
