Update on Shayna Baszler returning to WWE

More than two months have passed since the last meeting on WWE TV of the talented Raw wrestler Shayna Baszler and the decision not to use it anymore surprised many fans and professionals. However, this decision does not concern a specific choice of the federation's creative staff and does not come from other particular situations either, but concerns the WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

According to the well-known Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Shayna Baszler had been designated to achieve great successes both from her federation debut, but in the end, the plans suddenly changed. Wrestler's Royal Rumble was initially scheduled to win, then another plan canceled by the federation was to push The Queen of Spades to win Raw's title at WrestleMania, but those plans were later canceled by Vince McMahon.

In the end, Vince McMahon opted for the delivery of the title to Asuka, Paul Heyman wanted to transform the South Dakota wrestler into a great Heel, but the plans have changed even before the dismissal of Heyman, released from the role of head of creativity.

According to Meltzer reports, Vince decided to overshadow Shayna Baszler well before Heyman's release: he did not like the athlete's MMA style on a wrestling ring, and this is why the woman is no longer part the top of the show.

Shayna Baszler has not fought on Monday Night Raw since the episode of May 12, when she defeated Natalya by submission. With the release of Paul Heyman, Vince McMahon has changed the plans of many athletes of the federation, especially among young talents and has decided to rely on veteran wrestlers, returned to vogue, such as The Big Show and especially Randy Orton.

The latter, after winning the Backlash The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever against Edge, is considered among the main future candidates to replace the current WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. Shayna spent the beginning of 2020 chasing after Becky Lynch and the RAW Women's Championship, culminating to a match at WrestleMania 36.

As previously reported, Becky Lynch had pitched the idea of losing the RAW Women's Championship to Baszler at WrestleMania, however, that idea got nixed. "I actually thought I was going to lose the title at WrestleMania, which I also pitched, that was the end of it," Lynch said on The Bellas Podcast.

"Plans change." In an update, Shayna apparently worked a match this last week at the WWE Performance Center for a future episode of Main Event, according to PWInsider.
