WWE downgrades Drew McIntyre vs. Dolph Ziggler to Non-Title match

Recently, Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) announced several important matches for the next episode of Raw: between special stipulation matches, titles up for grabs and meetings with big implications for the most important event of the summer, SummerSlam, the episode of the red show of Next Monday promises to be of fundamental importance for the summer storylines of the Federation of Stamford.

However, the official WWE website is now advertising the Drew McIntyre-Dolph Ziggler match as a non-title match, contrary to what was previously announced. At Extreme Rules, Drew McIntyre defeated Dolph Ziggler for the WWE Championship, in a match with a particular special stipulation: the dispute was played under the regulations of an Extreme Rules Match but only on the side of Dolph Ziggler, with the champion who did not could make use of weapons or blunt objects.

The stipulation had been chosen by the Show Off but it was not enough for him to conquer the WWE title, therefore in the last episode of Raw Ziggler he again challenged the Scotsman, who accepted on one condition: this time he will choose the special stipulation and to communicate it shortly before the start of the meeting.

The match has been official for a week but only now WWE has announced that the WWE Championship will not be up for grabs. Here is what can be found written on the official WWE website: "WWE champion Drew McIntyre has accepted to face Dolph Ziggler in a non-title rematch but, this time, he will choose the stipulation"

There is no news on the reasons for this important change. Recall that the next episode of Raw has already been recorded at the Performance Center last Monday and that the match for the Raw Women's Championship between Asuka and Sasha Banks was also scheduled, a match to determine the next Street Profits challengers at SummerSlam between Angel Garza & Andrade, the Viking Raiders and Ricochet & Cedric Alexander and the presence of Randy Orton.

“When McIntyre attempted to turn his attention toward SummerSlam and finding a worthy opponent, Dolph Ziggler crashed the scene and demanded another match. McIntyre initially refused, but when Ziggler offered him the chance to pick the stipulation, the WWE Champion accepted.

Drew McIntyre declared that he’s going to make Ziggler sweat, much in the same way The Showoff did ahead of The Horror Show at WWE Extreme Rules, and reveal the stipulation only just before the bell rings”.
