This episode of Monday Night Raw ended with the revenge of the encounter between Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler. At Extreme Rules, despite the adverse conditions, The Scottish Psychopath kept the belt and once again proved his worth.
In the episode following Monday Night Raw, Dolph Ziggler asked for a rematch and this week the two faced off in a match this time not valid for the title. Compared to the last PPV, this time the Scottish wrestler was able to choose the stipulation of the match and McIntyre opted for an Extreme Rules Match, this time valid for both.
The two were the protagonists of a good match with the use of chairs, tables, kendo clubs and much more but in the end the reigning champion conquered the victory by carrying out a Claymore sending Dolph Ziggler on the wooden table and definitively archiving the practice Show off.
Not even the time to cheer for the umpteenth victory and after a few minutes Drew McIntyre was struck by the intervention of Randy Orton who with an RKO sent a strong message to the WWE Champion by officially challenging him for the title.
At the beginning of the episode, Randy Orton compared himself to sacred monsters of the discipline such as The Rock or "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, saying that both legendary athletes did not conquer a tenth of what reached him in WWE.
Randy Orton challenges Drew McIntyre
The only thing that is currently missing from the Legend Killer is a title and for this reason the well-known champion has identified his next prey in Drew McIntyre and in the WWE Raw title his next trophy.
According to some American colleagues, WWE plans to deliver the title to The Viper to SummerSlam and then return Randy Orton to the roof of the world again. This victory would only serve as a prelude to the umpteenth chapter of the challenge between the Legend Killer and Edge with the Canadian star who would return from the injury (suffered by Orton) and above all he would be involved again in a feud for the conquest of the WWE Championship.
After Drew McIntyre ended his feud with Dolph Ziggler by defeating him, Randy Orton attacked the Scottish Psychopath with an RKO. According to WrestlingNews, The Viper will defeat McIntyre at SummerSlam and became the new WWE Champion.
Orton has held the WWE Championship nine times and WWE's World Heavyweight Championship four times. He was the final holder of the World Heavyweight Championship, which he unified with the WWE Championship to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion by defeating John Cena at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs in 2013.
Orton is recognized by WWE as having the fourth-most world championship victories in history, behind only Cena, Ric Flair, and Triple H. He is the winner of the 2013 Money in the Bank ladder match, as well as the 2009 and 2017 Royal Rumble matches, and has headlined multiple WWE pay-per-view events, including WrestleMania XXV and WrestleMania XXX.
