Ivar’s injury could be worse than initially believed

In the last weekly episode of Monday Night Raw, which aired as usual last Monday on USA Network, former WWE tag team champion Ivar, of the Viking Raiders couple, allegedly injured his leg during his match alongside. by Ricochet, Apollo Crews and mate Erik, against the full Hurt Business.

After jumping between the ropes to fall on the heels of the match, the mammoth former NXT athlete would have immediately made the classic X signal with his arms, which in pro-wrestling jargon means "unexpected injury" and therefore a real physical problem that has nothing to do with the match script.

After being accompanied out of the arena by WWE insiders and medical staff, the evening's commentators confirmed the injury for Ivar, who apparently will now have to stand still for some time due to his bad fall.

Ivar provides update on his injury

As noted, WWE announced after RAW that Ivar suffered a cervical injury while doing a suicide dive during last night’s eight-man tag team match, which saw The Hurt Business (MVP, Cedric Alexander, Shelton Benjamin, WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley) defeat The Viking Raiders, Ricochet and Apollo Crews.

Ivar hit the dive on three opponents at ringside, and immediately threw up the dreaded “X” symbol to signal for help. WWE noted in their post-show announcement that Ivar was taken to a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

As reported by Dave Meltzer during the Wrestling Observer radio show, it would seem that the injury suffered by the big boy of the Viking Raiders would be more serious and unexpected than expected, with the well-known journalist who in fact hypothesized: "There is nothing for sure yet, but apparently, although it has not yet been confirmed, sooner or later he will have to undergo surgery.

It's a significant injury, once you state that the pain persists and you can't put your foot down, you can't come back in two weeks. It is probably more serious than expected. So, even if nothing is official yet, as of today, this is absolutely a possibility."

Good news does not seem to be coming for the former NXT and main roster duo champion, with his ring mate Erik, who could now also remain stationary without being able to fight, because he will not have his friend by his side.

trusted by a thousand battles. During an eight-man tag team match featuring The Viking Raiders, Ricochet, and Apollo Crews against The Hurt Business, Ivar did a dive through the ropes but landed wrong and throw up the “X” sign to signal an injury to WWE producers.
