As unfortunately very often happens, WWE Superstars occasionally have to undergo some surgical operations to fix some part of the body that is no longer 100%, such as a damaged ligament, a deviated nasal septum due to the blows suffered on the ring, or as happened to Charlotte Flair, a breast implant that has worn out over the years.
The last to have undergone a long operation, which became necessary after weeks, even months of physical problems, was the former Smackdown champion Naomi, who in the past few hours has undergone a fairly urgent surgery, given the clinical picture of the girl who was getting worse for days.
Naomi has been subjected in the past hours to a long surgical operation of over 6 hours for the removal of a fibroid that had been causing her health problems for some time.
Update on Naomi
The girl had in fact already experienced a serious form of anemia, caused by the fibroid then removed, which had prevented her from both training and taking part in WWE TV shows.
The former SmackDown Women's Champion posted the following to her story: "In the midst of hurricane sally and Covid I also underwent an unexpected 6 hr surgery to finally remove a massive fibroid that's caused me severe anemia fatigue horrible abdominal pains and more problems I don't even want to mention over the past year and a half...I'm recovering well I'm relieved and already feeling so much better so family friends and fans don't worry I'm ok lol miss ya #myomectomyrecovery."
Absent from programming since the 21 August episode of SmackDown, Naomi has worked through an inconsistent 2020 since making an attention-grabbing return at the Royal Rumble. 21 August saw her work Sasha Banks and Bayley in a couple of Beat The Clock Challenges and Naomi has also wrestled for the latter's SmackDown Women's Title several times this year, most notably at Super ShowDown 2020, where she was felled in just over 11 minutes.
Naomi told a fan on Twitter that she will "return soon as possible" but there's no word yet on when she will be back. She has not wrestled since the August 21 SmackDown episode, when she defeated SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley in a "Beat The Clock" match.
She made the jump to the main roster in 2012 and has won the WWE SmackDown's Women's Championship twice. Naomi also won the WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal in 2018.
