During the 2020 edition of WWE Clash of Champions, the Street Profits successfully defended the Raw Tag Team Championships against the couple formed by Andrade and Angel Garza. The final of the match, however, raised several controversies and made fans from all over the world talk a lot: in fact, Angel Garza remained on the ground after a bad blow and informed the referee that he had hurt his leg, with this' last who raised his crossed arms symbolizing a legitimate injury in the ring.
While Angel Garza was able to slip quickly out of the square, Angelo Dawkins took the victory after a Spinebuster against Andrade, who, however, came out of the pin before the count of three. However, the referee counted the winning pinfall and the Street Profits kept the duo titles despite the general confusion.
In these hours, updates are coming on Angel Garza's physical condition after Clash of Champions; fortunately, according to PW Insider the alleged injury would be less serious than initially thought. Although the Mexican wrestler still has to undergo further investigations, it seems that the hypothesis of a quadriceps injury has been set aside; in fact the injured area would be the hip and not the leg.
Several superstars injured at Clash of Champions
Through social media both WWE and Andrade are carrying on the classic storyline of the illegitimate victory, the result of an arbitration error. Therefore it is very likely that the two tag teams will clash again in the near future in a match for the Raw Tag Team Championships, with the timing that will be dictated by the actual physical conditions of Angel Garza, once evaluated.
It is possible that the WWE was forced to change the course of the Clash of Champions match in the race according to the injury sustained by Garza, so a meeting in the next episodes of Raw could be used to propose the ending initially designed for the event in PPV.
Angel Garza suffered an unspecified injury at the Clash. It appeared that he suffered a leg injury while delivering a knee strike. That leg injury led to what we have to assume was a premature ending to the title match. It isn’t yet clear if the ending was changed as a result.
Many fans suspected that Garza and Andrade could be in line to finally win the RAW Tag Team Championship belts. Anticipation was high that it was going to happen at the Clash. Now, there is speculation that the injury could be Garza’s hip. WWE hopes it is not a quad issue as they can put someone on the shelf for a year.
