From California to Florida: Will WrestleMania see a shift in location?

WWE still has WrestleMania 37 scheduled for next year at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California - Hollywood's WrestleMania. However, it was reported last week that WWE is planning to move the show to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

And the feeling is that the show could actually take place in the state that hosted WWE in all these months of health emergency, with the difference that it should be open to the public. On Wednesday, it was reported that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis had given the Miami Dolphins the authorization to fully occupy their stands in home games, for a total of 65,000 people.

Despite this, the American football team, part of its National Football League (NFL), has decided to still play their games with an audience limited to 13 thousand spectators, for now. In the meantime, however, WrestleMania 37 is still scheduled for March 28, 2021.

It has been widely documented that Vince McMahon wants to organize his own shows again with fans in the stands. NXT is having selected fans at its events and, according to what is now widely rumored in America, Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) will abandon the ThunderDome starting next November, in order to also organize outdoor events with fans.

How Florida's decision can change the fate of WrestleMania?

The connection between what the governor of Florida decided for the NFL and the future of WWE is that if WWE were to move WrestleMania 37 to Florida, that could indicate that the company could host fans inside the stadium for its entire life capacity.

We could therefore see a return of having a Showcase of the Immortals with a sold out in the stands. Andrew Rawens took stock of the situation on the site '', also adding that in the United States it is not yet known whether the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or even the Jacksonville Jaguars will change direction regarding the number of fans admitted to the ' inside their stadiums.

In times of full health emergency, in the States as in much of the rest of the world, things can change at any time. And when the WrestleMania 37 dispute is still several months away, nothing is certain. What is certain is that the possibility of reopening WrestleMania to the general public has never been so close since the very first lockdowns also arrived for Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) shows during the past spring.
