Chris Jericho on his three-decade journey in the wrestling rings

There have been countless awards in recent years to Chris Jericho, who has recently celebrated 30 years of career in wrestling. Y2J has released a large number of interviews in recent days, retracing all the various stages of his glorious adventure in this business, including the decision to leave Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) to move to the still-new All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

During the last episode of Busted Open Radio, the Canadian superstar selected his best matches as a pro, highlighting an incredible memory and equally surprising attention to detail.

Chris Jericho: "Here are the best matches of my career"

“It's really difficult to choose your favorite match, there are too many.

I used to always say the one against Shawn Michaels for the WWE title in Portland in 2008. It was not only a huge match but also the culmination of a seven-month feud that took on epic connotations. At first it was supposed to last only one month, but then we convinced ourselves to develop it for a longer period of time.

If I was still working in WWE, I would suggest making a special one to put on the Network, because it still represents a great example of how to build a good story, ” said Jericho. “Then I am reminded of the challenge with Kenny Omega at the Tokyo Dome, my first away from WWE in almost 20 years.

Basically, that's where the spark with AEW started, it was a fantastic opportunity. There are so many other encounters that I could mention, like the one with Ultimo Dragon in 1995, which made my talent known in ECW and WCW ”- he added.

Chris Jericho returned to his choice to leave WWE: “In 2017, Kevin Owens and I were the protagonists of one of the best rivalries. At WrestleMania that year, our match didn't get the right place on the card. Our work was wasted and I decided to go to Japan for some time.

Just when I was about to leave wrestling, I was lucky enough to meet Don Callis and Kenny Omega." Finally, in a tweet, Chris Jericho thanked everyone for making his career extra special. He said, "Thanks to the amazing, star studded cast of characters who joined me to celebrate #Jericho30 this week on #AEWDynamite...including the funniest man in America @fluffyguy and one of my oldest and dearest friends in the business @mexwarrior! Gracias Pinche Ghost!"
