As reported in several of our daily news of the last week, Finn Balor, unfortunately, suffered a very bad jaw injury during the NXT TakeOver 31 main event, in his great match against Kyle O'Reilly of the Undisputed Era, with the reigning champion that after suffering a bad blow to the face he had in fact managed to fracture his jaw in two different places.
After undergoing a surgical operation in the past few days, Finn Balor also showed the frightening and painful swelling in his face that unfortunately was the result of his injury. The NXT Champion, however, joked on Twitter, posting a nice selfie on its official page.
Furthermore, according to a well-known website that deals with medicine, such injuries take about six weeks to recover, with the athlete who should be forced to remain at home until at least mid-November, with the WWE that would be shivering, however, to get his champion back in the yellow show rings as soon as possible.
Is Finn Balor to be stripped off the NXT Championship?
According to what was reported in the last few hours by the Wrestling Observer site, through the words of the well-known journalist Bryan Alvarez, it would seem that in the last few days the hypothesis has come forward that the management of the McMahon company could go and snatch the title from the hands of Finn Balor, as previously done with Karrion Kross, precisely due to a shoulder injury and as done with Balor himself with his very first victory of the Universal title, with the Irish athlete who, if it takes too long to recover, would be dismissed from his position as leader of NXT.
As reported in the last WON Newsletter, in fact: "It's a hit and run, a lightning-fast thing. If it seems that his recovery is quick, he will remain champion, if it seems that it will take longer than necessary they will force him to take the title"
Apparently the WWE decision is already made, with the next few days being crucial for the NXT Champion, who now finds himself at a crossroads, with the possibility of his second title being snatched from his hands, which is very high.
Given that Finn Balor himself won the NXT Championship as a result of Karrion Kross having to vacate the belt due to a shoulder injury, NXT higher-ups are obviously desperate not to strip yet another NXT Champion of their title for injury reasons.
While everything possible will be done to keep the NXT Championship on Finn Balor where possible, the current plan is to come up with ideas for Balor’s return to action – and with that to be a return where he stills has the NXT Title in his possession.
