The first episode of Monday Night Raw of 2021 was held tonight, a special edition called "Legends Night Raw" which featured some of the greatest legends in WWE history. Among the most anticipated wrestlers of the evening, besides obviously the well-known Hulk Hogan, there could only be The Nature Boy Ric Flair, one of the greatest wrestlers in the history of Vince McMahon's federation.
On Monday, Ric Flair was the protagonist in the negative and came out quite 'humiliated' considering what happened. Primarily it was the cause of the defeat of his daughter Charlotte, paired with Asuka, in the Tag Team Match against Lacey Evans and Peyton Royce.
At one point in the match, Lacey Evans began to bewitch the expert wrestler who almost dazed and tripped over her daughter and thus caused Peyton Royce to pinch and damage Charlotte. At the end of the match, an enraged Charlotte literally kicked Ric Flair out of the ring, who appeared sad and disconsolate with her daughter.
A little later then Ric Flair was the protagonist of a verbal confrontation with former friend Randy Orton who humiliated and mocked him as 'pathetic' During the last episode of Legion of Raw, former WWE Vince Russo wondered why WWE treated his legend like Ric Flair.
Vince Russo on Ric Flair
"This is a policy that they have always done, now. they are trying to make Ric Flair weaker in people's eyes. I don't think there will be any more Angle with Charlotte and her father, she is now a superstar and I think we will not see Ric Flair again in the coming weeks.
We try to make the character of Charlotte grow more and more and consequently instead of limiting the name of the father that maybe can affect her" - Vince Russo said. Charlotte and Ric Flair played up the botched ending and created a storyline out of it on RAW.
Charlotte was annoyed with her father, and she instructed him to go backstage. Ric Flair looked dejected as he was shown making his way to the back. As noted after RAW, there could also be another reason pertaining to backstage politics that explains WWE's booking of Ric Flair on the show.
Nonetheless, Ric Flair issued the following apology on Twitter after the episode: "Sorry I Messed Up. It Won't Be The First Time And Probably Won't Be The Last. A Father And Daughter's Bond Is Unbreakable. Thank You For Letting Me Come Visit! @MsCharlotteWWE @WWE #LegendsNight"
