On January 11th on Raw, Xavier Woods had to face T-BAR and in general the Retribution all by himself. Red show commentator Tom Phillips informed the audience that his longtime New Day partner, Kofi Kingston, was injured and even struggling with a broken jaw.
Phillips reported that the injury occurred while New Day was battling Hurt Business. But is it really so? For all the fans who have wondered whether the former WWE Champion is struggling with a real injury or not, answers have come.
Kofi and Xavier lost Raw duo champion titles to Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin three weeks ago at TLC, and at the time Kingston publicly reported losing two teeth over the course of the contest. But he was back in action for an eight-man match on December 28, so New Day wrestled with Miz & Morrison on last week's episode of Raw.
Despite all these regularly honored commitments, however, 'PWInsider' claims the injury is for all intents and purposes real.
What's next for Kofi Kingston?
Kofi Kingston has also been active on social media and on the New Day curated 'Feel The Power' podcast, showing little or no sign of a broken jaw.
The former WWE champion, however, mentioned the injury during an Instagram interview with international rugby star Tendai Mtawarira. In the content, posted on Monday, the right side of his face actually looks a bit swollen.
Kofi also said in the course of his speech: "I have to apologize because I feel as if I am speaking only with a piece of my mouth. The fact is that I am dealing with an injury to the jaw right now, and my mouth it only closes on one side.
So if I look a little weird, here's why. I usually do a lot of imitations, parodies and various teasing, but this time I won't do them. I'm talking weird, trying to figure out what to do in this situation." Kofi Kingston has become the cornerstone of the tag team division in WWE and hopefully, he will be back in action soon.
While The Hurt Business is currently feuding with Lucha House Party on RAW, it can be assumed that Woods and Kingston will come back looking to regain the RAW Tag Team Championships once the former WWE Champion is healthy enough to compete.
The injury was initially believed to be mild which is why Kingston continued to appear on RAW even after TLC despite getting his two front teeth broken during the match. It is being speculated that Kofi Kingston suffered a broken jaw.
