Special match set to determine #30 Royal Rumble entry

In the last few days, we have brought you news about the return on TV of the FOX program, WWE Backstage, with the well-known television broadcast that would return today, to hype WWE Universe fans against the first Big Four of the McMahon company: the Royal Rumble.

Apparently, a few days after the FOX announcement that WWE Backstage would come back to life one night only for the PPV with the real brawls inside, obviously, with the usual Renee Young, Booker T and Paige in command of the transmission, FOX also wanted to announce that in the broadcast there would also be some very important announcements regarding the revenues of the two Royal Rumble matches, with the identity of the wrestlers number 30 of the Royal Rumble male and the number 1 and 2 of the female one, which would be revealed on FOX television screens during the evening.

Apparently, there would have been some problems of misunderstanding within the WWE environments and probably also in those of FOX, because in the last episode of Friday Night Smackdown that aired in the night, no image and no reference was made to the announcement to be made tonight at WWE Backstage.

Although WWE has advertised the return to the scene of FOX's WWE Backstage broadcast, no reference has been made to the announcement of the men's Royal Rumble number 30, a sign that WWE must have changed plans for the broadcast or may have even canceled that announcement.

According to what was hypothesized by the journalists of the well-known site Ringside News, the WWE may have changed its mind due to the huge criticisms rained on it from fans and professionals, after the confirmation this week that there would be the announcements of the first and the last entry to the respective Rumble.

We will see now, if WWE will continue to ignore it, avoiding any kind of announcement at WWE Backstage or if in the end, as promised, the identities of the first two women to enter the real fight and the last of the man who will be revealed will enter with 30 in the male one.

Ahead of WrestleMania 35, Charlotte Flair won the SmackDown Women's Championship by defeating Asuka which led to the triple-threat at WrestleMania 35 becoming a 'Winner Takes All' match. At WrestleMania 35, in the historic first-ever all-women's main event, Becky Lynch defeated Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair to win the RAW and SmackDown Women's titles.

This was the final WWE appearance of Ronda Rousey. As for Becky Lynch, she has been out of action ever since announcing her pregnancy on the RAW after WWE Money in the Bank 2020. On December 7, 2020, Becky Lynch gave birth to her and WWE Superstar Seth Rollins' first child.
