Latest update on Cesaro's WWE status

WWE fans have been hoping for a push in the main event zone for Cesaro for several years now, but they have never been satisfied. In recent weeks, the Swiss fighter had been one of the great protagonists of SmackDown, even going so far as to beat Daniel Bryan, but it was a temporary situation.

It was rumored that the contract that tied Cesaro to WWE was due to expire in April, immediately after WrestleMania, but apparently, the former United States Champion has already chosen his future. The indiscretion was reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter: "As far as I know, Cesaro would have already signed a new contract or has verbally accepted a few weeks ago"

Bad news, therefore, for AEW fans who were hoping to see him land at Dynamite as happened recently with several former WWE stars.

Cesaro's WWE career and future

Although Cesaro is 40 years old, he easily manages to churn out great performances and has announced that he will retire only when he realizes that he is no longer able to perform at the levels of the past.

We'll see if this decision to renew can finally push WWE to give him more space, and maybe a titled kingdom. To explain why this had not happened in the past we had panicked the Hall of Famer Arn Anderson, according to which the Swiss had probably made the big voice in the backstage.

Even Jimmy Korderas, the former WWE referee, had explained how the Stamford-based Company was wrong in not focusing on the "Cesaro Section" and creating a historic moment for Kofi Kingston, who won the world title at WrestleMania.

Cesaro was the protagonist of great moments in WWE, even painful ones. How can we forget the sensational tooth injury reported at No Mercy 2017 where, despite his incisors getting stuck to his gums, he managed to continue the match and then received a standing ovation for his efforts in the backstage? An unfortunate episode then left behind since the Swiss then managed to fix his teeth, two years after the incident.

Cesaro has been in the WWE since 2011, and he has been a constant fixture in the mid-card and tag team division in the company. The fans love Cesaro, and he is also respected by his peers and colleagues in the WWE. During a recent interview with SK Wrestling's Riju Dasgupta, Natalya called Cesaro the world's greatest professional wrestler.

"Cesaro is the greatest professional wrestler in the world. There is nobody that can touch him. There is no Superstar today; that is Cesaro. So, I can't wait to watch Cesaro shine and hopefully get a chance to main event WrestleMania."
