One of the most anticipated matches that thrilled the WWE Universe during the last Royal Rumble was undoubtedly the 'Last Man Standing Match' for the WWE Universal Championship between champion Roman Reigns and challenger Kevin Owens.
The two, after a pleasant match, where they attacked each other several times, were praised for the match played, a match that sanctioned yet another and, probably definitive for this feud, the victory of the WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Since returning to WWE last SummerSlam, the WWE Tribal Chief has had a totally new and distinctive attitude in his new version of Heel; according to many we have seen the best Roman Reigns in WWE history in recent months and now a question that everyone is asking, given the insatiable domination of him in that of Friday Night Smackdown, is, who will be his opponent at WrestleMania 37?
Update on Roman Reigns
Latest reports close to WWE claim that Royal Rumble winner Edge has decided he will face Roman Reigns at SmackDown.
Since Edge is a RAW superstar, many believed that Rated-R Superstar had challenged WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, but according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter colleague Dave Meltzer, the WWE plan is a match between Roman Reigns and the seasoned WWE Edge legend.
At the moment nothing has been announced and in recent weeks there was talk of a clash between the Tribal Chief and one between Daniel Bryan and Big E, especially in the event of a victory of one of these two at the Rumble, but the latest rumors speak of a choice now clear taken by the federation with a match 'Spear vs Spear' Also excluded are a challenge between Raw and SmackDown champions or a clash between Roman Reigns and a legend of the caliber of Bill Goldberg.
During a recent transmission to Sportkeeda, Vince Russo also stated that this 'sort' of Stable starring Roman Reigns could soon be enlarged, perhaps with the addition of Naomi, wife of Jimmy Uso and therefore a member of the family.
There had been a lot of speculation as to who Roman Reigns would be facing at WrestleMania 37 before WWE finally locked-in Edge as the challenger. It was initially believed that Daniel Bryan or Big E would be winning the Royal Rumble to challenge Roman Reigns.
Some reports had also suggested that WWE were thinking of having Goldberg or Drew McIntyre face Roman Reigns. However, it looks like a 'spear vs spear' encounter between The Tribal Chief and The Rated R Superstar has now been locked in by the company.
