In the last few weeks of Monday Night Raw, there have been some reversals regarding the feud that Charlotte Flair and Lacey Evans waged, with the latter announcing her pregnancy, which was recently discovered, leaving one in bewilderment including the daughter of the Nature Boy, who according to the WWE storyline is the father of the baby still in Lacey's womb.
Obviously, after such an announcement, (which is absolutely true and not just part of a storyline), Lacey Evans was no longer able to take part in the company's matches, despite the federation having very important ideas for her, in view of Wrestlemania. Until the last second, however, the match was still scheduled for tonight, with the Elimination Chamber card bearing the names of Asuka and Lacey Evans imprinted on it until the end.
Lacey Evans announced that she is pregnant
If in the kick-off of tonight's show Charly Caruso had promised possible new scenarios for the women's match valid for the Raw champion title, in the end during the PPV there was absolutely no dispute that went to cover the hole created by the non-appearance of Lacey Evans. Although other sites in the industry, such as Wrestling Inc and Ringside News were also expecting news on the matter, in the end, WWE simply preferred not to hold any match with the title of Raw champion at stake, with the feud between Charlotte Flair and Lacey Evans that it now seems hopelessly compromised and with Asuka still finding herself without an opponent. The only change that WWE made to the PPV card to include some women in the evening was the one made on Friday evening, where at Smackdown the company made official a match valid for the federation couple titles, with Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler who in fact went to clash with Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks, in the Elimination Chamber.
Ringside News called attention to the fact that WWE sent out social media blasts this morning to promote the RAW Women’s Title match at Elimination Chamber. This caused a lot of fans to wonder what is going to happen at the pay-per-view. WWE has now taken the tweet down that advertised the match. An Instagram story asking fans who will win between Asuka and Lacey Evans is still up. It is very interesting that WWE nixed the tweet about tonight’s Elimination Chamber. They might have had a sudden change of heart when it comes to promoting a match that they know isn’t going to happen.
