Current WWE Superstar talks being inspired by Mickie James

During a recent and long interview with Rick Ucchino on the microphones of the colleagues of Sportskeeda Wrestling, the WWE superstar of the NXT roster Toni Storm explained how she chose the path of professional wrestling and in general of the WWE thanks to Mickie James.

Storm shared several anecdotes about her young professional career and the former NXT UK Women's Champion said she was very inspired by Mickie James: "I don't know where to start, but I can say that Mickie James has always been a great character.

for me, it is quite interesting to say especially now that I know her personally and have also fought against her. It's great to be in WWE where all the heroes I've seen in my youth are. On the one hand, it is difficult for me, but being part of this women's division can only make me really proud.

We women, of the company, are all doing well."

Mickie James was one of the most popular WWE Divas in the 2000s

Mickie James is a wrestler who made herself known on the main roster in the now distant 2005 where she was part of a controversial and interesting feud against Trish Stratus.

This feud saw James slowly become really obsessed with Trish and Trish was even in great discomfort. This led the two to clash and enact an interesting feud. At Wrestlemania 22 Mickie James beat her former idol and took the first of five WWE titles she went on to achieve.

Mickie James is also a former WWE Champion Divas and we all last saw her in the ring at Royal Rumble 2021. On the other hand, we can say that Toni Storm is only 25 years old and is considered one of the most promising wrestlers in WWE.

The wrestler still has a long way to go and it is not excluded that in the short or medium-term we will be able to see Toni Storm fight within the main roster. Mickie James made her way to the main roster in late 2005 and soon kicked off an angle with Trish Stratus.

The controversial storyline saw James getting obsessed with Stratus, which made the latter uncomfortable. This led to differences between the two women, with James finally snapping on Trish at Saturday Night's Main Event XXXII.

At WrestleMania 22, Mickie James defeated Trish to win the WWE Women's title, the first of five that she would claim in the company. James is also a former WWE Divas Champion and was last seen in the 2021 Women's Royal Rumble match.
