Andrade's time in WWE may be drawing to a close. In fact, several authoritative US sources are reporting in these hours that the former Cien Almas has asked for his release in WWE. Among the first to talk about it 'Ringside News', which exclusively reported what happened around the Mexican, who completely disappeared from the radar for several months after orbiting the title of US champion until the spring of 2020.
The American site, through Steve Carrier, he claims that Andrade has asked for his release from the company. An authoritative and prominent staff member working behind the scenes at WWE would have directly confirmed the news.
However, the site is unable to explain whether the release has already been granted to the former NXT champion. It was in fact explained that "Vince could make him wait". A fate that also unites Andrade to another fighter very close to Zelina Vega: Aleister Black.
The first, in fact, is her assisted historian, while the second is her husband in real life.
Andrade has been missing from television for five months
Rumors of the WWE farewell also spread after fans discovered that El Idolo removed all WWE references from his social media, including changing his Twitter handle.
In recent times, Andrade has also registered a trademark for the name La Sombra. He also owns the brand of "El Idolo". Around the same time, her better half Charlotte Flair applied for "Ashley Flair" and "The Queen Of Wrestling".
The Flair, however, had also tried to propose a storyline in which the two should have paired even in the ring, but the WWE rejected it. 'Ringside News' concluded its discussion on the subject by also trying to outline the future of the athlete.
The most likely, according to the American site, is that Andrade will return to Mexico and present himself as a top-notch main eventer there. He could, however, also attempt the adventure in AEW after all, but Steve Carrier himself admits that this is simply speculation at present.
It is true, however, that imagining a Tony Khan not interested in talking to Andrade seems very difficult. Andrade was last seen on WWE television in October 2020. In the weeks leading up to this appearance, his tag team with Angel Garza imploded after the duo unsuccessfully competed for the RAW Tag Team Championship.
Next, The Fiend and Alexa Bliss attacked Andrade and Zelina Vega on the October 12th episode of RAW. Shortly thereafter, Zelina Vega was released from WWE and some fans have connected her departure with Andrade's lack of prominence on WWE programming. Either way, it's unclear what the former United States Champion's future holds.
