Even the last episode of Monday Night Raw has now gone to the archives and with it WWE has managed to shuffle the cards once again, changing different scenarios in view of the most anticipated show of the year around the world of pro-wrestling: Wrestlemania.
After announcing the title challenge valid for the WWE Championship between the champion Bobby Lashley and his challenger Drew McIntyre, right in one of the main events of the Showcase of the Immortals, WWE wanted to give several other surprises to its fans, making it change owner to not one but two titles on the red roster of the Stamford company.
Monday Night RAW: New Champions crowned
During the night recently passed, the WWE has in fact seen fit to crown three new champions of the red roster, staging a match and an angle in which a title was sold even without any kind of contention.
In fact, during one of the Raw matches, the New Day challenged Hurt Business, with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods who got the better of the couple formed by Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander, after a very tough dispute between the two teams, with the boys of the New Day who thus became pair champions for the eleventh time, but were immediately challenged by a new team that faces the federation's tag team category.
After the celebrations of their victory, Kofi and Xavier have received the challenge of AJ Styles and Omos, with WWE having even confirmed how the two teams will clash at Wrestlemania with the pair titles of the red show up for grabs, in the dispute that will sanction the in-ring debut of the black giant who has his back to former WWE Champion.
The go-home episode of WWE RAW before Fastlane saw the tag team titles of the Red brand change hands. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods defeated Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin in a grueling match to become 4-time RAW Tag Team Champions.
Following their in-ring battle, both The New Day members confronted everyone unhappy about their title win. They believe that it is not their fault if other superstars on WWE RAW cannot step up to the challenge. Here's what Kofi Kingston had to say: "We told a lot of people what's going to happen.
A lot of people are upset. 'Oh! We are tired of seeing the New Day as the champions!' Don't be mad at us. Be mad at Cedric. Be mad at Shelton for not being able to keep the tag team championships. Be mad at all your favorite tag team for not being able to step up against your boys."
