Stone Cold Steve Austin pays tribute to Roman Reigns

Matching today's superstars with yesterday's legends isn't an exercise dear to fans only. Sometimes it happens that even those directly involved sometimes launch themselves into the hypothesis of Dream Match with stars who have trod the ring in different periods from theirs.

And last on the list is Stone Cold Steve Austin, who recently admitted that he has an unfulfilled dream: to work in WWE alongside Roman Reigns. Speaking with 'WrestlingINC' editor-in-chief Nick Hausman on 'WrestlingINC Daily', Stone Cold began reflecting on him by praising his former opponent Kane, but then focusing on Roman Reigns.

"There are a lot of guys that I wanted to work with," Austin admitted. "There are generational gaps, but you always do these fantasy pairings. You see what a guy is doing and you think that together with him, or against him, you could have done something important.

And with Roman Reigns, we could have created something truly memorable. I think he's doing a great job. He's a great performer, and even a little underestimated at times. But he's really phenomenal in the ring."

But that will not happen, as Stone Cold Steve Austin has confirmed that he will not see himself active in wrestling again: "The only thing I still do since those days is some beer drinking.

Of course, I'm not out of control like in the WWE rings. . But I must say that even at home I drink with a discreet efficiency." Speaking of Kane, however, Steve Austin spoke of inducing him into the WWE Hall of Fame as something that should have happened a long time ago.

"Are you kidding? It was time, finally!" Joked the Texas Rattlesnake. "Well, on the other hand, a couple of times he has been in a ring... No surprise, his was one of the greatest gimmicks of all time. And he is one of the greatest characters of all time, together At Undertaker, we all know.

Kane has had an absolutely phenomenal career, with all the transitions he has made with his character. Besides, I had him as a guest on Broken Skull Sessions and we had a lot of fun." WrestleMania 39 (a.k.a. WrestleMania Hollywood) is set to take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on April 2, 2023.

Given The Rock’s Hollywood stardom, Roman Reigns believes it would make sense for him to face his cousin at the event. Excluding his match against Erick Rowan, The Rock’s most recent advertised WWE match occurred in 2013 at WrestleMania 29. He lost the WWE Championship to long-term rival John Cena in the main event.
