John Cena Sr. talks about Elias' WWE future

On the November 2nd episode of Raw, Elias was defeated by Jeff Hardy in a Guitar on a Pole match. On the November 9 episode of Raw, Elias faced Jeff Hardy and Riddle in a Triple Threat qualifier match for Team Raw for Survivor Series but the match was won by Riddle.

On November 22, in the Survivor Series Kick-off, Elias participated in a Battle Royal between Raw and SmackDown but was eliminated by Jeff Hardy. On the November 30 episode of Raw, Elias was defeated by Jeff Hardy in a Symphony of Destruction match.

In the episode of Raw on December 28, Elias was defeated by AJ Styles. In the episode of Raw on January 4, 2021, Elias was defeated again by AJ Styles. In the episode of Raw on January 11, Elias was again defeated by Jeff Hardy.

On January 31, at the Royal Rumble, Elias participated in the homonymous meeting entering with number 14 but was eliminated by Damian Priest. In the episode of Raw on February 1, Elias and Jaxson Ryker were defeated by Carlito and Jeff Hardy.

On February 21, in the Elimination Chamber Kick-off, Elias participated in a Fatal 4-Way match that also included John Morrison, Mustafa Ali and Ricochet with the opportunity to enter the Triple Threat Match for the United States Championship in the evening.

"I think that guy (Elias) should be gone," John Cena Sr. said. "I hate to say it, I don’t wish anybody ill will, but there’s a young man… You know what, he’s a poor imitation of The Honky Tonk Man.

It is, it is [an insult to poor imitations of The Honky Tonk Man], but you know what… it is what it is." He believes both Elias and Jaxson Ryker will receive their releases from WWE by the middle of 2022. "It ain’t working, son, that’s all I can say," he added.

"Really and truly, I’m not arguing with you, but I just say to you, now we’ve got this team, we’re gonna have a tag-team duo, what are they going to do? Repackage it? Bring it out with a new name, new product? I guarantee you this, and I can’t really say the word guarantee, but I bet you by the end of next year or middle of next year, both those guys aren’t gonna be around no more."
