Drew McIntyre on the importance of WWE Backlash

Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre spoke to Sportkeeda Wrestling during an episode of the new podcast The Inside Kradle. Scottish Psychopath talked about many themes and among many also about the next match, to be held at Wrestlemania Backlash, the Triple Threat Match valid for the WWE Championship between the champion Bobby Lashley, Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre.

Here are his words there, during the conversation with Rick Ucchino and Kevin Kellam: "I think it will probably be a good match between the three of us, I have already challenged Bobby on a couple of occasions, he is very physical and I like the way he fights.

Braun instead reminds me a lot of Sheamus for how he behaves in the ring. I know that we will give life to a great show, it will be an incredible match and I hope to bring out my best to win, in case I don't succeed I think that then there will be other occasions even if not now and not soon."

There is a lot of curiosity about how the situation of Wrestlemania Backlash will turn out, if The All Mighty will keep the title or if it will be Drew McIntyre or even Braun Strowman to take the title.

Drew McIntyre speaks about Backlash

Over the past year and a half Drew McIntyre has seen his status skyrocket and currently, the British wrestler is one of the most prominent superstars of the company owned by Vince McMahon.

Since Wrestlemania 36 when in a very short time Drew McIntyre won the title against Brock Lesnar, the wrestler has totally changed the way of him and gradually has had a leading role within the company. Also at Wrestlemania 37 Drew McIntyre opened the show that saw the public return in a match valid for the WWE Championship but was forced to surrender by losing to current champion Bobby Lashley.

It seems likely that in the event of a new knockout Drew McIntyre will be the protagonist of other feuds and will move away from the title perspective. Assuming Drew McIntyre does not win at WrestleMania Backlash, fans will be wondering what could be next for the Scottish Warrior.

There are plenty of scenarios that could happen. The first would be a possible rivalry renewal between McIntyre and his former best friend Sheamus, who just happens to be the reigning US Champion. The two certainly have chemistry and their matches before WrestleMania 37 were brilliant to watch.

McIntyre could also make the move to SmackDown. Though this scenario is highly unlikely, WWE could book him in a match against Roman Reigns. Perhaps McIntyre could be the one to take the Universal Championship away from him.
