Drew McIntyre describes his first meeting with Vince McMahon

One of the Superstars who had a decidedly better 2020 than all colleagues, is undoubtedly Drew McIntyre. Comparing with the Scotsman's remaining years of career, we can also safely say that 2020 has so far been his best year ever, of a whole career, as the Ayr athlete has come to get his hands on WWE.

Championship twice, stealing it first from Brock Lesnar, the WWE's unscratchable beast and then from Randy Orton, who had won it a few days earlier against him. After literally hauling Monday Night Raw on his shoulders for an entire year, Drew then had to step aside, first giving up his title to The Miz and then seeing Awesome One himself being beaten by Bobby Lashley, the current titleholder.

If all goes well, already at Wrestlemania Backlash, in the triple threat valid for the belt, Drew could become a three-time WWE world champion. He has a great relationship with Vince McMahon now.

In his last interview released to the microphones of the Rich Eisen Show, Drew McIntyre wanted to bring to mind the very first meeting that took place between him and the WWE Chairman 13 years ago, with the former Chosen One, who in fact stated: "I already mentioned coming from Scotland and from there I went straight to WWE television.

Within three weeks. I have been pro-wrestling since I was 15, but I did it initially as a part-time job because I always continued my studies at school. I was practically still with the university when within six weeks, I found myself going on the road with WWE.

I was sitting in the catering and still trying to figure out what was happening to me. I was there and I said 'There's The undertaker in front of me, I've always seen him fight on TV, all his life. There is also Triple H, who I have seen fight all my life.

He is crazy. They are now part of this roster. That's cool, Drew. Vince McMahon also got to sit right in front of me and he also asked me how I was doing. In my head, I was trying to say to myself 'Oh my God, this is Vince McMahon.

Don't say anything stupid 'So we had a little conversation, which probably lasted a minute. Eventually, he told me 'good luck' and walked away. I thought to myself - and this is now part of a chapter from 13 years ago - with the very pronounced accent I had at the time, 'Surely he won't have understood a word of what I said.

I must have ruined my first conversation with Vince McMahon." After losing at WrestleMania, The Scottish Psychopath fought his way back into the WWE title picture by defeating Braun Strowman and Randy Orton in a triple threat match.

However, the fixture between Drew McIntyre and Lashley has been changed. The Monster Among Men defeated Drew the following week to insert himself into the WWE Championship matchup at WWE WrestleMania Backlash.
