*Spoiler* Rey and Dominik Mysterio created history at WrestleMania Backlash

The history of WWE is studded with the most disparate firsts and records, just think of the famous streak streaked on stage for years, before being interrupted, such as the famous streak at Wrestlemania by The Undertaker, or the records for the youngest champions.

of history, currently still held by the likes of Brock Lesnar or Randy Orton, respectively for the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship. Every year, however, WWE decides that it's never enough and therefore creates new records, which have never been staged with his company, creating the perfect situations to make such events happen, just like they did tonight at WrestleMania Backlash, where once again, history was made.

Afterwards, an emotional Rey and Dominik Mysterio were interviewed and tried to convey just how much winning the WWE SmackDown Tag Team titles together meant to them. It was a heartfelt moment, something that WWE probably should have done at WrestleMania last month.

Rey and Dominik Mysterio created history

As already mentioned several times before WrestleMania Backlash, in the event that the couple formed by father and son of Friday Night Smackdown, and therefore Rey and Dominik Mysterio, had won the tag team titles of the blue show, in the assault against the Dirty Dawgs, Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler, the two have entered by right in the history of WWE, as the first and the only couple formed by father and son to have held such titles.

Despite the very long history that WWF/E has behind it, no couple of father and son have ever won the federation's couple titles, in any of its forms. Tonight, after a very grueling match, however, the couple formed by athletes of Mexican origins, managed to get their hands on the titles, after also suffering an attack backstage, which had led Dominik to start the contest in a manner quite subdued.

After a splash by his son on Robert Roode, eventually, Rey Mysterio and his son Dominik managed to win the contest and hence the titles, effectively entering WWE history once again, with the San Diego elf in this way he also manages to bring back an important belt in his trophy collection, from which he had been missing a title for some time, while instead, Dominik won the first title victory of his career.

While Roode and Ziggler will most likely get their rematch sooner rather than later if the Mysterios keep the titles, what's next for the father and son duo? Smart Money will be in a feud with Jimmy and Jey Uso once they settle their differences and get back on the same page.

Until then, we might end up seeing a feud between the Mysterios and The Alpha Academy of Chad Gable and Otis.
