
Walter Hahn, better known by the ring name Gunther is an Austrian wrestler signed to WWE, where he performs on the SmackDown roster and is the current holder of the Intercontinental Championship.
His reign with the United Kingdom Championship, which lasted 870 days, is the longest in the history of the title. Walter made his Evolve debut at Evolve 90 on August 11, 2017 in Joppa, Maryland, defending the Progress Atlas Championship against Fred Yehi.
Walter unsuccessfully challenged Matt Riddle, Keith Lee and Tracy Williams for the WWN Championship the following night at Evolve 91 in New York City in a Fatal 4-Way match. Walter then faced Lee on December 9, 2017 for the WWN Championship but was defeated.
He made his SmackDown debut on April 8, 2022, teaming with Ludwig Kaiser, handily defeating jobber Joe Alonzo. On the June 10 episode of SmackDown, Gunther defeated Ricochet to win the Intercontinental Championship, his first title on the main roster.
