
Maxwell Jacob Friedman is an American professional wrestler signed to All Elite Wrestling, where he is the holder of the AEW World Championship.
Prior to joining AEW, he competed in Combat Zone Wrestling and Major League Wrestling, winning the CZW World Heavyweight Champion, the CZW Wired Championdove, the MLW World Middleweight Championship and the MLW World Tag Team Championship (with Richard Holliday).
Friedman graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Plainview, New York in 2014 and was a member of the school's football and swim team; subsequently he briefly attended Hartwick College in Oneonta.
After being trained by Curt Hawkins and Pat Buck and made his in-ring debut at Create A Pro Wrestling Academy in Hicksville (New York) in February 2015.
On January 7, 2019, Friedman's signing with All Elite Wrestling was announced.
In 2001, he appeared on an episode of The Rosie O'Donnell Show singing You Are My Sunshine after his parents sent a tape to the production. After video of his performance resurfaced in 2019, Friedman (in character) initially denied the appearance, only to later admit it, stating that Rosie O'Donnell was trying to hold on to her fading star and that she didn't have the dare to say it.
