Tommaso Ciampa

Tommaso Whitney, better known as Tommaso Ciampa is an American wrestler signed to WWE. During his career, he held the NXT Championship twice and the NXT Tag Team Championship once and the ROH World Television Championship once.
Trained by Killer Kowalski, Whitney made his debut for independent promotions in the Boston area, including Chaotic Wrestling and Top Rope Promotion.

On the episode of SmackDown! on July 14, 2005, he made his first appearance in World Wrestling Entertainment, playing the role of Thomas Whitney Esquire, one of Muhammad Hassan's lawyers.

Ciampa made his Raw debut backstage on the April 11, 2022 episode where he interacted with both Ezekiel and Kevin Owens. On the April 25 episode of Raw, Ciampa appeared on the stage attacking Mustafa Ali at the end of the match won by the latter against The Miz, effectively turning heel. On April 27, it was announced that Tommaso Ciampa's ring name would be shortened to simply Ciampa. His first match on Raw took place on the May 9 episode where he prevailed over Mustafa Ali thanks to The Miz, the special referee of the contest.

After teaming up with The Miz, on the August 1 episode of Raw, he first defeated Chad Gable and Dolph Ziggler and then defeated AJ Styles, becoming the No. 1 contender to Bobby Lashley's United States Championship. The following week, however, Ciampa was defeated by Lashley, failing to capture the US title. Afterwards, Ciampa was inactive with a knee injury.
