Jerry Lawler

Jerry The King Lawler is an American professional wrestler and television personality currently signed to WWE. Also, he fights sporadically on the independent circuit.

In his long career he won 168 titles; overall he has held more titles than any other wrestler to have ever played in WWE, but he has never won a title in Vince McMahon's federation.

He made his debut in 1970 and in 1971 won his first title, the NWA Southern Tag Team Championship with Jim White. In 1974, Lawler began a feud with Jackie Fargo, who was initially his mentor. On July 24, 1974, Lawler was granted King Of Wrestling recognition.

On October 24, 2015 at USA Championship Wrestling, Lawler defeated Terry Funk via disqualification in the latter's final match. On the January 17, 2017 episode of SmackDown Live he hosted Dolph Ziggler on his talk show "King's Court". After a heated argument with the latter, who boasted of having given him cardiac arrest in their match 4 years earlier, he was hit with a Superkick in the chest and helped to his feet by JBL, then screamed in full anger of him.

In September 2000 he married colleague Stacy Carter, from whom he divorced a few months later, in July 2001. He had two children: Brian Christopher, also a WWF / E wrestler who died in 2018, and Kevin, a wrestling referee.

On February 7, 2023, he was rushed to hospital after suffering a heart attack at his residence in Florida. Lawler had already had a previous heart attack in 2018.
