Maria Kanellis is best remembered for her stints in WWE between 2004 and 2010 and between 2017 and 2020 and in Ring of Honor between 2010 and 2015 and between 2020 and 2021.

Maria Kanellis made her WWE return on June 18, 2017, at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, alongside her husband Mike Bennett (renamed Mike Kanellis), establishing herself as a heel. It is later revealed that the two have joined the SmackDown roster. On the July 18 episode of SmackDown, Maria helped her husband defeat Sami Zayn. In September, Maria becomes pregnant and is forced to leave the WWE scenes for more than a year.
On April 15, 2020, Kanellis and Bennett were fired from WWE. In an interview, Maria stated that the last storyline she was working on, which was thrown away, involved the father of the child turning out to be her husband Mike, who would have had a story of redemption in relation to real problems of alcoholism.
In 2004 Maria Kanellis participated in the reality show Outback Jack, finishing in fourth place. Maria Kanellis has been married since 2014 to colleague Mike Bennett, with whom she has two children.
