Stuart Alexander Bennett, or Wade Barrett, is a former British wrestler signed to WWE, where he plays the role of commentator on SmackDown.
In 2010 he was the winner of the first season of NXT, while in 2015 he triumphed in the twentieth edition of the King of the Ring; he also captured the WWE Intercontinental Championship five times.
Stuart Bennett began his wrestling career in July 2005, performing on the British independent circuit.
In March 2007, Stuart Bennett auditioned with WWE and was sent to their developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling, where he adopted the ring name Stu Sanders. On January 2, 2008, he won his first title, the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship, teaming with Paul Burchill; the two held the belts for about two months, but with the end of the deal between OVW and WWE, Bennett was transferred to Florida Championship Wrestling, another WWE developmental territory.
In Florida Championship Wrestling, he won the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship teaming with Drew McIntyre, but lost it after just under a month. In October 2009, he assumed the ring name Wade Barrett and became FCW's commentator alongside Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes.
On August 26, 2020, he appeared as the NXT commentator as a temporary replacement for Mauro Ranallo; on 17 September 2020, his full-time return was confirmed.
Effective October 7, 2022 he became the new SmackDown announcer alongside Michael Cole.
