Rami Sebei, better known by his ring name Sami Zay, is a Canadian wrestler signed to WWE, where he performs on the Raw roster and is the current holder of the Raw Tag Team Championship and the SmackDown Tag Team Championship with Kevin Owens.
During his career, he held the Intercontinental Championship three times and the NXT Championship once. He is also known for his stint on the North American independent circuit, where he wrestled under the ring name El Generico.
Generic first makes a name for itself in Canada and then in 2003 it starts appearing in the United States. He made his Pro Wrestling Guerrilla debut. After winning the PWG World Tag Team Championship once with Human Tornado, twice with Kevin Steen, once with Quicksilver and once with Paul London, on February 24, 2007, Generico defeated his former tag team partner Human Tornado, winning the PWG World Championship. Some time later, he and Steen defeated PAC and Roderick Strong for the tag titles, and Generico became the only Pro Wrestling Guerrilla wrestler to hold both the major tag and tag tag titles at the same time.
On January 28, 2023, at the Royal Rumble, Zayn did not intervene during the match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship between Reigns and Kevin Owens won by the first; at the end of the match Owens was brutally attacked by the Bloodline, but when Reigns ordered Zayn to attack Owens instead he attacked Reigns by making a turn face, consequently being attacked and sanctioning his exit from the stable. April 28, they retained the belts against The Usos.
On May 1, 2023, as a result of the Draft, he moved to the Raw roster.
On May 6, at Backlash, Zayn, Owens and Matt Riddle were defeated by Solo Sikoa and The Usos. On May 27, at Night of Champions, they defended the titles against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa thanks also to the intervention of the Usos.
