The WWE United States Championship is a professional wrestling title owned by WWE and exclusive to the SmackDown roster, and has been held by Austin Theory since November 26, 2022.

It is part of the federation's second tier titles, and before becoming owned by WWE, the title was defended in the independent circuit of the National Wrestling Alliance and, later, in World Championship Wrestling. It is also one of the federation's oldest titles, having been introduced in 1975, albeit acquired in 2001 by the World Wrestling Federation, which reactivated it in 2003.

The title originated on January 1, 1975 as the NWA United States Heavyweight Championship in the National Wrestling Alliance, and specifically the Jim Crockett Promotions territory, where it was also routinely awarded and defended.
