Dakota Kai is a New Zealand wrestler of Samoan descent signed to WWE, where she performs on the Raw roster. In WWE she held the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship twice, the Women's Tag Team Championship twice, and the inaugural Dusty Rhodes Women's Tag Team Classic.

On July 30, 2022, at SummerSlam, she made her return together with Bayley and IYO SKY at the end of the match valid for the Raw Women's Championship won by champion Bianca Belair against Becky Lynch.

Kai wrestled her first match on Raw on the August 8 episode when she and IYO SKY defeated Dana Brooke and Tamina early on in the tournament for the vacant Women's Tag Team Championship.

After also eliminating Alexa Bliss and Asuka in the semifinals on the August 22 Raw, they lost to Aliyah and Raquel Rodriguez the following week in the finals to fail to capture the vacant Women's Tag Team Championship. On September 3, at Clash at the Castle, Damage CTRL prevailed over Alexa Bliss, Asuka and Bianca Belair. On the September 12 episode of Raw, they defeated Aliyah and Raquel Rodriguez to win the Women's Tag Team Championship for the first time.

On the October 21 episode of SmackDown, they retained the tag titles against Raquel Rodriguez and Shotzi. On the October 31 episode of Raw, they lost the belts to Alexa Bliss and Asuka after a 49-day reign. However, five days later, on November 5 at Crown Jewel, they regained the belts thanks to surgery from Nikki Cross. After a few title defenses, they lost the belts on the February 27 Raw to Becky Lynch and Lita after 114 days of reign.
