William Regal, is a former British wrestler, signed to WWE.
Regal is best known for his stints in the World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment between 1998-1999 and 2000-2022, both as a wrestler and commissioner of Raw and general manager and NXT.
Coached by Marty Jones, he began his career in 1983, aged 15 in Blackpool. He then began wrestling for promotions on the British independent circuit and toured the world until 1993, when he signed with World Championship Wrestling and wrestled as Steven Regal. In Atlanta, he won the WCW World Television Championship four times.
In 1998 he moved to the World Wrestling Federation and after a short spell in WCW in 1999, he returned in 2000, where he was a two-time Intercontinental Champion, five-time Hardcore Champion, four-time European Champion and four-time World Tag Team Champion. He also won the 2008 King of the Ring. He also worked as an athlete development manager and as a talent scout/recruiter from 2018 until 2022.
