Vader

Leon Allen White, better known as Big Van Vader or simply Vader, was an American professional wrestler.

He was active in the United States and Japan predominantly during the 1990s, when he wrestled for New Japan Pro-Wrestling, World Championship Wrestling, World Wrestling Federation, and All Japan Pro Wrestling. Specialized mainly in the role of monster heel, in some phases of his career he also fought as a face.

He was a heavyweight of imposing size but endowed with unexpected athletic qualities, which allowed him to frequently perform both aerial maneuvers such as the Vadersault and power take-offs.

Among the many titles won, three WCW World Heavyweight Championships, three IWGP Heavyweight Championships and a WCW United States Heavyweight Championship stand out. While he never held the WWF Championship, he has fought in many main events on both pay-per-view and televised championships.

Wrestling Observer and Pro Wrestling Illustrated named him Wrestler of the Year in 1993 and 1996, and he was also inducted into the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame.

Leon White passed away on June 18, 2018 at the age of 63 due to his heart problems. He had been hospitalized for a month suffering from pneumonia. On March 7, 2022, his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame was announced.
