Back in 2019, when All Elite Wrestling was born, it was a puzzlement of where exactly the company would stand in the wrestling business. This was especially the case as, barely a year after their television debut, a surprise was unrelated to the story of a pandemic. But as of 2024, it’s safe to say that AEW has become the second-largest wrestling company in America after WWE. AEW has delivered such legendary matches and moments so far, and there's no denying that the promotion has impacted the industry.

Khan Discusses AEW Profitability

Recently, while promoting the next All Out event, AEW President Tony Khan was asked during a media call whether AEW could be the second most profitable wrestling company of all time after this media rights deal with Warner Brothers Discovery gets closed, only if that is, the future fans of All Elite Wrestling will love the business.

“Thanks for doing that,” Khan said. “For now, as to whether those cash flows do take place overnight when the new deal comes into effect, I can’t say that for sure. There is still a lot more to be solved. But it seems to me that AEW is about to be the second most lucrative wrestling promotion in history. And that is pretty remarkable for a promotional company that has only been around for a little over five years and has not been on television for much less than five years.”

Although Khan admitted that he did not have the exact numbers about WCW in 1998 or Jim Crockett Promotions in 1986, he is sure that in the foreseeable future, AEW will be in contention for the second most profitable wrestling company of all time; he also observed that the media deal with Warner Brothers Discovery almost ends by portraying their current position as “in the red zone.” He likened what would seem the conclusion of that deal to a ‘touchdown’ for AEW.

He also admitted that for all the arguments he advanced, the super deal with Warner Brothers Discovery appears to be coming to AEW, and it would be a game-changing deal for the company as we advance.
