Goldberg Speaks About Why He Never Wrestled for WWE Ever Again After 2022
Under Eric Bischoff, Goldberg was an unstoppable monster. He won almost every single match that he competed in. He also did power moves with a lot of ease, and managed to lift superstars such as The Giant (Big Show) for Jackhammers relatively easily.
Goldberg’s 2003-2004 WWE run wasn’t the best of his career. In fact, many people believe that Goldberg wasn’t handled well by the WWE. After leaving the WWE in 2004, Goldberg returned to the WWE in 2016. He defeated Brock Lesnar in less than 2 minutes after he returned to the company. Although it was supposed to be just one match, it lead to his second run in the WWE. During his run, Goldberg won the WWE Universal Title twice. He fought Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns and The Undertaker during his run.
Goldberg last fought in the WWE in 2022 and has since then never fought. We do not know whether WWE is even interested in bringing Goldberg back for more.
Goldberg recently spoke to Tim Green about why he hasn’t fought in the WWE ever since 2022. He believes that his backstage issues with Triple H is the reason why he hasn’t returned to the WWE yet. He believes that the WWE simply did not ask him to return for one final match due to this.
"The fact that I didn't get along with Paul Levesque, which is Vince's son-in-law, I think had everything to do with it," said Goldberg.
During the interview, it was noted that there was some level of animosity between Triple H and Goldberg in the past. Goldberg and Triple H feuded with each other in the past. Goldberg was in the World Heavyweight Title scene at that time. Goldberg claims that the animosity that the people saw on TV was real.
"I know some people that were friends that worked with me [in WCW] were talking to him when he was working at WWE and he made a comment while I was at home and I remember it like it was yesterday, from that text he said I was taking it or faking it or something, and I wasn't there for the demise of WCW, how could I? So from then on, I wanted to rip his face off, so we had a confrontation prior to me signing at the WWE. Then, ironically, we were represented by the same agent and so it made the situation quite uncomfortable once I signed with WWE."
