Appearing as a guest on the recent “Casual Conversations with the Classic” episode, WWE NXT’s development talent Karmen Petrovic shared that she had received words of advice and motivation from Shawn Michaels. Speaking about her past activity in the ring, Petrovic recalled an episode that followed her first match on Level Up.
Petrovic was able to share the elation of experience in the first competitive match. In particular, she said that after her first match with Ivy, she felt as if she were on top of the world. It was a great atmosphere, and I found myself lost in the crowd when everyone started shouting. I at last got the opportunity to meet Shawn, which I had been longing for all along as the night ended.
When describing how she engaged with Michaels, Petrovic stressed the genuine nature of the congratulatory words that he used. Before I could head to bed, I went to Shawn to tell him goodnight and thank him as well: he reassured me and made a funny comment, Finley recalled. ‘Good job tonight; you are a real contender,’ he said to me, ‘Obviously, this sport is yours if you want it and don’t last as long as I did!’ We laughed, which helped me relax.
Such words from Michaels, according to Petrovic, were no empty rhetoric but came with meaning. Lastly, she said, “He comforted me by saying that he was never worried that I would be a good wrestler. ”The words ‘I was waiting for your journey," he said, were quite memorable to me for the rest of my life.
Shawn Michaels Inspires Petrovic
Michaels, a WWE Hall of Famer and a veteran performer has really inspired Petrovic, particularly regarding her self-confidence and direction in her career. This serves her well as she continues rising through the WWE NXT ranks, as even one of wrestling’s legends has endorsed her.
Looking back, Petrovic said that he has gained a lot from Shawn’s advice, which has been a key to his transformation as an athlete. “Well, it is not about grasping the fundamentals of the business and what it encompasses but actually getting a sense of the spirit of this place. He has faith in me.”
