On the July 29th, 2024 episode of Monday Night Raw, Zoey Stark, Shayna Baszler, and Sonya Deville defeated the team made up of Lyra Valkyria, Katana Chance and Kayden Carter, continuing their dominance after the great debut that divided the WWE Universe, Between those who are happy with this new trio and those who are less convinced. After the match, however, the Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai, Kairi Sane and IYO SKY) returned to land the stable led by Sonya Deville who had driven them away from the red show on the 8th of July after an attack in their turn.
The three stars, still orphans of an injured Asuka, seem to have returned as a babyface, with a change of look that is very reminiscent of the Black Lotus, stable of Lucha Underground that had among its members IYO SKY and Kairi Sane, as well as Mayu Iwatani and Angela Fong.
During the penultimate episode of Monday Night Raw, we saw a real massacre, between really fought matches and unexpected attacks that were perpetrated against two wrestlers: Seth Rollins and Dakota Kai. As for the member of Damage CTRL, she was attacked by the stable formed by Sonya Deville, Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler backstage, when WWE had now announced that it would go to the ring just to fight against Sonya Deville, and replaced by IYO SKY.
Injury for Dakota Kai
Initially, Dave Meltzer, as he wrote on our pages, reported: "Remember Monday when we were talking about Seth and Dakota Kai? It was done for reasons of accident... I do not know how serious. I asked if there were two covers in the storyline for some injuries and I was told that they were both," with PWInsider who added that Dakota Kai was not behind the scenes on the August 9th edition of Friday Night SmackDown, with the wrestler not wrestling from the shows in Japan a couple of weeks ago. There was also reported growing concern within WWE that he may have suffered an injury, although until then there had been no official confirmation.
Well, the confirmation finally came during the last episode of Monday Night Raw, where WWE confirmed that Dakota Kai has torn her meniscus and will have to undergo an operation to repair the injury that will keep her out of the scene for 8-10 weeks.
