Goldberg made his WWE return during the latest episode of Monday Night Raw and immediately launched his challenge to Gunther, who recently recovered his World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Jey Uso and will be Bill's last opponent in his retirement match.
'Da Man' has been working harder than ever in recent months to allow his body to be in sufficient shape, but he admitted that it was not easy to get medical clearance to return to the ring and various injuries slowed down his training schedule.
Bully Ray slams WWE
The former world champion has made history in this business and deserves to end his career with a match of this caliber, which will be staged next month. The WWE Hall of Famer had already had a small feud with 'The Ring General' at WWE Bad Blood in the latter part of last year, but then he disappeared due to some physical problems and everyone thought that the hypothesis of a showdown between them was definitely over.
Triple H and WWE management have been waiting for the right moment and there are all the conditions to witness a memorable clash, although some analysts and former champions have criticized the company's choice to give Goldberg such a chance.
On the latest edition of 'Busted Open Radio', Bully Ray highlighted how Bill has benefited from privileged treatment compared to the others: “The guy comes back and gets in Gunther’s face… the segment ends, and less than 10 minutes later we get a graphic and the match is official. Who made the match? Why did they make the match?”
He also added: “Triple H once said he didn’t want to insult the intelligence of the WWE Universe. This insults the intelligence of the audience. This isn’t creative license. It’s just bad, lazy booking. They could’ve told a simple, logical story—even backstage—within one hour of TV. But instead, they rammed it down the fans’ throats and expect them to swallow it.”
