Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Mark Henry spoke about his contract with AEW expiring today, May 28, and discussed his future with the Jacksonville-based promotion and in the wrestling world.
“My contract with AEW expires tomorrow, May 28, and today is the 27th. Tony Khan said at the press conference that he was very proud of what we accomplished together and I feel the same way. I appreciate everything that has happened in AEW with Tony Khan and the Khan family, I’ve had a great experience and I feel like it’s time for me to take more time to run hemarkhenry.com and the Remarkable brand and focus on what my next steps are.”
Continuing his speech, the former wrestler said: “I have no intention of renewing my deal, I think it’s a mutual thing. If I can’t put 100% of myself into it, then it’s only right for both parties to end the relationship on a positive note. Like I said, it was a positive experience, I tried my best to help as many people as I could. I wanted to help with other things but I didn’t have the time, but those people have my phone number and whenever they need to call me I’m available for them. I’m not leaving professional wrestling, what I’m saying is I’m going to take some time to work on some projects and I’m going to come back with all my strength because that’s what I do.”

People are going to find out a lot more about me than they’ve ever heard. I don’t want to give anything away, so keep your ears open. It’s going to be big. It’s going to be one of the biggest they’ve ever done. There’s a lot of ground to cover, almost 3 hours.”v
